Campus Representatives & Associates
Campus Representatives and Associates play a huge role on each Stories of STEM campus. Campus Representatives are responsible for staying in contact with Hannah Thompson, the founder of the initiative and interviewing/photographing women in STEM on their campus or area. They are also responsible for reaching out to their peers and sharing Stories of STEM in hopes of getting other students interested in becoming Campus Associates. The Campus Representative will keep in touch with the Campus Associates to make sure that at least two women are interviewed a month and she will send these interviews and photos to Hannah, who posts them on the website and social media platforms. The Campus Representative and Associates are responsible for dividing the duties among themselves. These duties include: - Contacting a woman in STEM at their college/university or in their area (describing Stories of STEM, and setting up a time for an interview) - Researching her career (if professor) and past experiences that you may be able to ask questions about - Coming up with the questions - Interviewing her, recording it, and photographing her (on our campus we have a place where we can rent nice cameras so we typically use those) - Transcribing the interview - Putting the interview together using a template provided
If your campus is not currently represented by Stories of STEM we'd love for you to join our team as a Campus Representative. If your campus is already represented we'd love for you to become a Campus Associate and contribute to our work. If you're interested in either of these positions, have any questions or would like to learn more please fill out the form below. We look forward to hearing from you!
